Heat Pump Repair

Oregon Heat Pump Repair Specialists

For many Oregon homeowners, a heating system that runs specifically off a heat pump is standard. Heat pumps are highly efficient and effective for heating and cooling residences.

With your dual-purpose heat pump, you use it year-round, which means a higher chance of it needing a repair after years of running efficiently. The team at Gresham Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc knows how frustrating it can be when a heat pump fails, regardless of the season.

We are here to help return your home to a comfortable temperature and offer fast heat pump repair service.

Signs Your Heat Pump Needs a Repair

Any time your heat pump operates out of the norm, you should contact a repair specialist. Some of the common warning signs that something is about to break down include:

  • Ice Buildup on the Coils: You should not see ice buildup on your unit. If you do, you may have a malfunction that requires immediate repair. Your defroster may not be working as it should, or refrigerant levels have lowered.
  • Fan is Not Moving: The fan on your heat pump might not work because you have a flipped breaker, which is something you can check and easily fix yourself. If the fan is still not working, you may have an electrical issue or worn-out component that needs repair.
  • Heating or Cooling Malfunction: When your heat pump stops heating or cooling your home, try adjusting the temperature by a few degrees to see if the unit responds. If not, you may have a malfunction in the cool/heat mode that needs a diagnosis.
  • No Airflow: If the unit is running, but you have no air coming from the individual vents, you may have an internal malfunction. Sometimes the problem is as simple as a clogged filter, but if you have not maintained your unit, that blockage could lead to further issues.
  • Cycling: While a heat pump does cycle on and off to conserve energy, it should not continually click on and off. If so, you need to bring in someone for a diagnostic appointment to make sure you do not have a wiring issue.
